Do you ever mourn the passing of a moment? Does it bother you that a piece of time that was so significant to you can fade and die away like it almost never happened? I wrestle with this.
This is a chronicling of joys and sorrows, a recognition of the glory in everything, of those moments that were so beautiful but were perhaps made even more so by their passing. These photos are some of my most beloved memories. Some bring me pain to revisit because of the way time and circumstances have changed them. I don’t like to display false realities to build up a facade of perfect happiness. While some experience devastation greater than others, nobody escapes pain. And like everyone, I have deep joys and deep sorrows. It may not be obvious but the following represent both.

Below: Sagmeister on the search for happiness
Q: Where can true and lasting happiness be found?
This is not a new question.
Sagmeister shied away from only one possibility. Not religion, but the person, Jesus Christ, professed son of God and savior of the world.
Is it the formidable foe of pride that keeps us from exploring his astronomical claims?
If you listen to him you will find that the question of happiness is a far too shallow and low aspiration. There’s so much more.

What governs good design?
Looking up,
I remember that I am small.
Friends, this life is shot through with meaning. Have you noticed?
This dilemma of the loss of moments is answered with a profound promise that I hold fast to—I must, what else can I do? That none of the joys and none of the pains are wasted. None of those moments were insignificant or useless. I believe we will all one day see who they were making us to be for eternity.
