Made a quick little video of our meet up with the attendees of Sunday morning Lake Washington Cars and Coffee. We bought this little car in January and drove it up from LA. Being a California car for life, some things had never been tested but thankfully the engine was in top shape. Seeing as it rained all three days of our drive up through California, we gave the windshield wipers a hard workout, found out the heater cables were disconnected, and discovered some seals were missing as evidenced by the pools of water collecting under our seats. But we survived, miraculously frostbite free.

It is crazy how you forget the magic a year held. Looking back, I see such an abundance of incredible moments that, at the time, didn’t feel as special as they look now. I’d like to work on observing and being thankful for what’s happening right in front of me but even if that isn’t entirely possible, an exercise such as this brings so much joy! Maybe I’ll do it again sometime but this year, I’m going to try to just live it.

Two years ago, I shared a series of photos chronicling significant moments, whether grand or small. I left it vague without explaining events and will continue to. I think it’s valuable to leave room for the viewer to imagine or interpret their own story. So here is a second collection of significant moments taken from 2015 to 2017.

I’ve opened a shop that I’m hosting myself! Here’s what I’d like to say about it. I think Christmas should be about more than what it appears to be these days and I think you feel the same. I was recently awakened to the fact that I often don’t bother to feed myself well just out of laziness when I have the opportunity to do so (clarification: I do eat!). Yet so many people in this city don’t have that “luxury”. I see so many of them every day around the city. But food isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. So I’d like to donate half of the proceeds from my shop this Christmas to help feed the homeless in Seattle. It’s not much but it’s something. If you’ve got no other incentive, will you help me do that? I’ll be donating through UGM (Seattle Union Gospel Mission) which you can do directly if you’d rather.

I’ve been painting, experimenting with abstract shapes and patterns. I want to visually communicate emotions, music, moments, or the mundane. The translation of these things onto paper fascinates me and the act of painting itself is cathartic, slowing down time in a way my soul needs these days.
So I am excited to share them with you. The originals can be purchased on Etsy (update: purchase right here in the shop) while reproductions and new manifestations (pillows, apparel, phone cases, etc.) can be purchased on Society6. I’d be honored if you want to make them yours.
